Making a Difference

DPA Program

The HOME Consortium Down Payment Assistance Program (DPA) helps eligible first time home buyers with down payment, closing costs, and home repairs. Funds may be used to purchase a single residence, two to four family unit, condominium unit, or manufactured housing.

Some of the rules and requirements of this program are:
  • Incomes not exceeding 80% of area median income.
  • Up to $5,000 loan for down payment or closing costs. The loan is a 0% interest, deferred loan, which means the loan is not required to be paid off until the home is sold or transferred.
  • Not owned a home during the past three years
  • Eligible Areas for DPA include the counties of Jefferson, Ozaukee, Washington, and Waukesha.

The DPA loan may also be combined with the DPP Down-Payment Plus grant.

More information is available on the Home Consortium DPA website.
